Cinnamon and cardamom infused tea is sweetened with freshly squeezed orange juice to make this delicious and soothing winter spice orange tea. It's the perfect hot beverage to enjoy on winter days or cool summer nights.
You will need:
  • Water - 2 cups
  • Cinnamon - 1 stick
  • Cardamom - 4 pods, crushed
  • Black teabag - 1 (or use 2 tsp loose tea)
  • Orange juice - ½ cup, freshly squeezed
  • Honey - to sweeten, if needed
How to:
  1. Bring water to a boil along with cinnamon and cardamom in a saucepan. Add tea, cover and let steep for 4-5 minutes.
  2. Strain the tea. Fill tea mugs or glasses two-thirds with the hot tea and top with fresh orange juice. Taste and see if you need to sweeten with honey. Serve immediately.
Notes:
1. I like to brew a light tea to make hot orange tea.
2. You can store the orange tea int he fridge for a day and warm it up before serving.
3. Use your favorite spice while brewing the tea. You can use cloves, star anise, etc or herbs like fresh mint or rosemary too.
