Succulent Love and Painted Pots

April 23, 2013 by Anjana @ At The Corner Of Happy And Harried 41 Comments

Succulents are a girl’s best friends. They are easy to re-pot, not very demanding and add much-needed greenery indoors.

Painted Terracotta Pots 2

After I undertook my first paint makeover project, I painted some terracotta pots. I painted them in blue, a mint green and a mix of the two (that’s the larger pot in the picture).

I knew that the best thing to plant in them would be some no-fuss succulents. And I found the perfect candidates. I have no idea what they are called, but they are really cute!

They form a cute vignette on my side table. I have had these cute glass bud vases/bottles with raffia bows for ever. Found them at the dollar tree, of all places!

It is interesting to see myself gravitating a lot towards blues and greens in decor lately. Perfect for spring and summer, I say!!

It’s amazing how popular succulents have become lately. They are so much less demanding of time and “expertise” than many other plants are. We brought some hens/chicks with us from KY where they did really well and some are still alive, they keep multiplying. Some of ours died this winter, it was so extremely cold for so long. (we live in western CO west of Grand Junction). They look very nice in the prettily painted pots you put them in. Happy Weekend
