THAI ICED TEA WITH ALMOND MILK - HAPPY&HARRIED

I know what you are thinking. An iced tea recipe in December? Well, if you live in the south, it shouldn’t surprise you that much. I mean, it has been touching 80 degrees Fahrenheit lately, no kidding. Here in Texas, we crank up the air conditioning and guzzle down gallons of sweet iced tea while decking the halls… fa la la la la!! I’m not complaining much though, I’m a warm weather girl at heart. And I love that my patio herb garden is still going strong.

On one of my recent grocery runs I came across Milo’s Tea. Milo’s Tea is fresh brewed, and features natural ingredients, no preservatives or added acids. I was intrigued. What does it taste like? Well, it tastes just like you’d make at home, without any sharp after-taste of regular commercial varieties.

Milo’s Tea is available sweetened with pure cane sugar, no calorie and unsweet options, as well as lemonade, and a tea and lemonade mix. With so many options, they are THE beverage for holiday meal entertaining and get-togethers.

Did you know that Milo’s Tea Company is a family-owned, certified woman-owned, award winning business located in Bessemer, AL? Milo’s was founded as a restaurant in 1946 by Milo and Bea Carlton after Milo returned from serving his country in World War II. They use high quality, fresh, natural ingredients and never sacrifice taste. What began as a small business selling to Birmingham grocery stores, now Milo’s beverages can be found in thousands of retailers across the USA. Take a look at the ingredients list to see for yourself how they use only natural ingredients; drink Milo’s and taste the difference!

I decided to try making our favorite Thai iced tea with Milo’s Tea. Thai iced tea is generally made with a commercial Thai iced tea mix which gives it a distinct orange-brown color. It’s sweetened and thickened with sweetened condensed milk for a delicious dessert-like beverage. And since I was using sweetened tea, I decided to use unsweetened almond milk to make vegan Thai iced tea.

Here’s a great tip for iced tea that doesn’t get watered down. Freeze some tea in ice-cube trays and use them to chill your drink. Your iced tea will not get watered down and taste great till the last drop. You are welcome!

It’s really simple to make vegan Thai iced tea using Milo’s Tea. You need just two ingredients here. First, fill up your glass with iced tea cubes.

Pour sweet Milo’s Tea until glass is half full and top up with almond milk. Add a sprig of rosemary or mint for a subtle fragrance and flavor. And that’s it!

I’ll be whipping up gallons of Vegan Thai iced tea at our Holiday gathering this year. What about you?

I found Milo’s at my local Walmart in the refrigerated juice and dairy section but they are available at lots of retailers. Find a store near you by using the store locator.
